Homocysteine is a sulfur-containing amino acid found in the blood. During the past few years, studies have documented links between elevated homocysteine levels and premature coronary artery disease, stroke, and blood clots, even among people who have normal cholesterol levels. Studies also indicate that the right combination of vitamins can bring homocysteine levels back into normal ranges in 95% of cases.
